Cartagena is no doubt a very pretty place! The old part, what the locals call "dentro", is inside a very old city wall, going all around. The walls are an UNESCO World Heritage site. It is definitely a tourist destination, full of restaurants, shops, street vendors, cafes and people. A long weekend is probably the perfect length of time to spend there.

Not every street is the same beautiful, but most of them are, and there are no areas to avoid. We have spent 6 nights in a cute boutique hotel in Calle La Mantilla.

It can get a bit slow to wait for the car, but today it is on the ship, on its way. We have spent the time dealing with covid too, both of us. Not too badly unwell, but if you are going to be sick it is as well that it happens when you can't move anyway. The average annual temperature in Cartagena is +28C, the sun shines all the time (except during the two wet seasons), and there are long, famous beaches along the waterfront of Bocagrande, another part of the city. We passed them while on a tour around Bocagrande and between us we didn't manage to get a single photo!

The car is scheduled to arrive towards the end of the week, and we are moving on to another hotel tomorrow to be closer to the container terminal. The terminal is in a different area called Manga. Photos to follow in the next post.
