We left Lago Rincón del Bonete to go north-west to a border to return to Argentina. It was a reasonably long drive, and the landscape was pretty much the same monotonous as in the inland parts we had seen previously. However, once we arrived to the area around Salto, it was more varied and interesting, reminding us of the "usual" countryside views of trees, bushes, paddocks, cultivated fields, a few houses here and there and farm animals now and again.
Salto itself is not providing much for tourists, so we stayed at a thermal resort a few kilometers outside, in Termas del Daymán. All the water in the pools was natural from thermal springs, and the resort was very nice with a lot of different areas and pools to go to. We had a good rest, but we don't like pools much and when the air temperature is +35 and the pool water is +38, it seems of little difference to be in one or the other. Night time was more interesting, and everything was open until 11pm, which is understandable given that the locals have dinner late in the evening.
It was a short drive to the border at Puente Internacional Salto Grande, and they were just opening a new system there to be the same as we had encountered when we entered Uruguay. It was a simple process, we had crossed the Uruguay River, and before we knew it we were back in Argentina!
