Arriving in Malmö

Around 17 months after we left to go on our trip of a lifetime, we were back where we started from. We left winter and darkness, and returned to spring and light.

It will take time to process the experience, and to actually believe it - we have done this amazing thing. We have been appreciating our enormous luck to be in a position to be able to do this trip, as well as luck in quite a few situations along the way. No matter how cautious you may be, you need luck as well as your own responsible actions to get you through.

We noted in Brazil, where the language is Portuguese which none of us speak, just how much of an advantage it is to be at least very good, if not actually have your first language as for Harold, in the local lingo so you understand both what is said and what is not.

Having experience from driving up and down mountains as well as on dirt roads and in places where everyone drives like a mad person, as in Alto La Paz, is very useful. Still, being in traffic is always bringing unexpected situations.

What an adventure! Enjoy the blog for another little while, and then it will be removed to be saved and savoured by us two.
