Costa Rica - preparations for South America trip

After arriving in Costa Rica 4 April 2025, we needed to get the car through the Revision Tecnica, an annual event for older cars similar to MOT or Bilprovning. We were a few days late, and risked being fined, but we expected to pass and carry on to spending a few days on the north-western coast of Guanacaste. That didn't work according to plan, and we returned directly to San Jose to get ourselves ready for the next leg of the trip.
After organising parts and service for the car, getting a new revision (passed this time with no issues even though Nissan didn't find anything wrong so they didn't fix anything...), and avoiding to be on the road over the Easter period, we were ready to leave.
Preparations for the next trip include getting a spot on a container ship from Panama to Colombia. This is necessary to get through the Darién Gap. We are booked to have the car leave 20 May, and we are going to fly across. If all goes to plan...
We are planning to leave San Jose 28 or 29 April, so keep an eye on the blog after that to follow us. And we never got a fine, luckily the police didn't want to check.
